*The standard fee for sweeps is £60. However, should we encounter issues such as creosote buildup or a bird’s nest, additional time may be required to address them. What's Included in the price?

As members of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) each sweep includes:

  • A visual inspection of the chimney stack and pot from the ground as well as the visible area of the inside of the chimney.
  • General safety issues such as ventilation and presence of a carbon monoxide alarm are also checked.
  • At the conclusion of every sweep a smoke draw test is carried to ensure the appliance and chimney are behaving as expected.
  • A valid safety certificate is always issued including any recommendations.

All of the above are included in the price of your sweep at no extra charge.

Please Note

Our services are performed with integrity and care. While we conduct brief visual inspections of the appliance and chimney, it’s important to note that due to the concealed nature of chimneys and associated appliances, the information gathered should not be solely relied upon as a guarantee of safety or freedom from faults or issues related to age, misuse, or poor installation.

By default, we assume that the appliance is correctly and safely installed unless informed otherwise by the homeowner or the person granting access to the property. Often, faults come to light during the sweeping process. For a chimney and its associated components to be deemed suitable for use, they must be in a condition that allows for safe cleaning and testing.

If damage is uncovered during sweeping, it often indicates an underlying fault that has been exposed by the process itself. Examples of such faults include decayed or rotten liners, or bird guards with rusted fittings that become dislodged during sweeping. We strive to identify and address these issues promptly to ensure the safety and functionality of your chimney and appliance.
